Designation of Service Providers (DSP)
A Designated Service Provider is a health facility (hospital) or healthcare provider who has an agreement with the Scheme to provide treatment or services for Prescribed Minimum Benefits at a contracted rate.
Certain penalties may apply if you do not use a Designated Service Provider in case of a Prescribed Minimum Benefit.
For all Prescribed Minimum Benefit conditions, you must use our Designated Service Provider to get full cover. If you choose to use a healthcare professional who is not a Designated Service Provider, we’ll cover 100% of the Scheme Rate for the accounts and you’ll be responsible for the balance.
