These fraudulent messages falsely claim that your Vitality benefits are about to be cancelled. They then prompt you to click on a link and visit an unfamiliar website to update your details before a specified deadline, potentially compromising the security of your personal information.
Any links we send you will always direct you to our official channels or trusted partners. We will always provide you with our official contact numbers, which you can verify on our website.
8 key principles to avoid being scammed
At Discovery Vitality, we make every effort to keep your Vitality membership, data, and benefits safe. Fraudsters take every opportunity to make scams look like real campaigns and promotions. Make sure that you are aware of the latest scams and fraudulent activity making the rounds by following these key principles to avoid being scammed.
- We will never ask you to log in to your Discovery profile from an SMS. Don't click on links or call any numbers in suspicious or unexpected emails or SMSs.
- As a general security measure, Discovery will never ask for sensitive information (such as passwords or account details) via email or SMS. Additionally, we will only request personal information through our verified customer support center.
- We will never ask you to take action on your Vitality benefits with little notice, such as within a few hours or days. In line with compliance requirements, we will always provide notice in advance for any changes or updates to your Vitality membership and benefits.
- Don't download or install apps that give others access to your mobile or desktop device.
- Never share your membership details, Discovery username and password or OTP with anyone.
